Consistency of Brands across Social Media Platfoms by Andy Phillips
Introducing Andy Phillips: I met Andy Phillips by accident in Starbucks when I was having coffee with his lovely wife Simone. Simone and I had discovered via Twitter (foursquare check in at The Belvedere Arms in Ascot) that we only lived around the corner from each other. While drinking coffee and getting lost in local gossip Andy decided to joined us before his meeting. I was asked what was next for me and I said that I have always wanted to have my own blog. Coincidentally Andy was a blog/SEO Whiz, he kindly offered to coach me through the process step by step to get me up and running. Andy was fantastic and patient (even when I was freaking out from an overdose of technology) and spent hours with me over Skype. I’m so grateful to have found Andy and would not have this blog without his expertise and valuable time. Thank you!
One of the major aspects of a Social Media Campaign is to have continuity across multiple platforms. The great video below provides you with a few tips on how to be consistent with your brand across multiple networks. [/stextbox]

Hi Social Geekiness
Gotta say this is a brilliant idea. I am just getting a blog up and did not even think which social media platforms I’d be able to use with my name or my brand. I’m really glad I found this out before I started.
It has made me rethink and do a bit of research before I get a web address for my blog. Now I’m going to look at making sure I can get the same name on the social media sites and the blog.
Thanks for such a great post.. I’m new to all this so it’s great that sites like yours exist

Hi John
Thanks for the comments, I use that site in the video every time I want to check if a name is used, it’s really useful. There is one other thing to consider when building a solid foundation for your online business and that’s to create a Google Account for each niche or business. The name of the Google Account is less relevant here; however it is all part of organising yourself. A Google account will give you email initially and a body of tools that are essential for webmasters and bloggers alike. I go into how to create an account on the website in a short Mini Course, but a Google Account will also give you access to Analytics, Verification and some great online tools like Google Docs and Google Reader which is great for bloggers to keep up to date with RSS fed news from their niche. All great stuff. Let us know how you get on…

What a fantastic site, thank you both for sharing! It just gave me a good nudge to register a site name on the relevant social media sites too.

Hey guys, still using this technique that Andy shows us here used in conjunction with setting up a Google account and any new niche web address it really has helped to establish brand.
Thanks again

Another great site to check whether your niche keyword (phrase) is taken across the Social media Platforms is http://knowem.com/ where you can also find out if the web address is taken or not…
